It's possible that the company had been thinking about doing it for some time now, even before Gould was hired. Unless there's something that I don't know about, then I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now. Also, the Union Square Investments guy is a girl. So between the two explanations, I don't know which one we should hope for. But I'll give the Governator the benefit of the doubt here too. To be fair, Wachovia hired Gould back in May 2005 and they issued their slavery apology in June. It’s possible that the company had been thinking about doing it for some time now, even before Gould was hired. Unless there’s something that I don’t know about, then I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

This is the company that recently issued an "apology" for the fact that one of it's ancient ancestral groups once profited from slavery, as though it matters to anyone now.
