I'm pretty sure Ivan Jen won election to the Senate as a BCR candidate too, before James Gallagher. You Republicans do have a track record of electoral success on this campus.

The elections council chair just announced that there was an error in linking candidate numbers to candidate names in the tabulation program. As a result, Charles Shin was wrongly declared the 3rd place finisher in the Senate race. It turns out that Ali Ansary came in 3rd, not Charles Shin.

Charles Shin actually came in 21st, so he is the first alternate.

So let me revise my earlier post to say congratulations to Victoria for being the first senator-elect on the BCR ticket in 4-5 years, thanks to Amaury for managing her campaign, and thanks to all who campaigned and voted for her.

I apologize for the mistake about Victoria being the first BCR nominee elected to the Senate; I was wrongly informed by someone else. In fact, James Gallagher was elected on the BCR ticket in 2001. Paul LaFata ran in 2002 as the BCR nominee but did he win that year, or only the following year when he ran as the APPLE candidate?

I should make clear that I meant: Paul ran as a BCR candidate for Senate in 2002.
