It's too damn bad that the USA blew it by destabilizing the strongest secular regime in the region, which also happened to be right next door and a traditional enemy of Iran, not to mention a potential ally in such a war that could have absorbed a great deal of damage in border clashes and saved the US troops a lot of pain.
