I don't know what Ross' reasons were for running for ASUC but I am sick of hearing this crap about how he shouldn't have done it because of another BCR candidate. This is bullcrap. He can do whatever he wants.

Also sorry to see that Rohit didn't win.

Its funny to see Ben Chapman comment on getting along when he betrayed so many people in the past by siding either with one side or another.

Alright, a few short points I'd like to address:

1- Ross did end his campaign due to his own reasons. People still voted for him anyway, but he might've had a chance if he did all the campaigning stuff. So we don't know if he would've won. We do know he would've represented BCR's interests as well as possible.
2- Ross didn't "steal" ANY votes, or at least he didn't encourage people to vote for him once his campaign ended. In fact, he strongly supported Chad after this and was a key member of Chad's campaign.
3- Let's not compare Chad being a good candidate with Chad being an electionable candidate. He had the BCR, Greek community, and ROTC. With that, he could win and did, even by a slim margin. HOWEVER, he is only a freshman, and they don't even know him well in BCR to know for sure how he'll represent the club. Plus, I've been hearing word that he was a jerk to people in the club when they weren't doing work for him every second. Let's see how good of candidate he is.

That is all.

Beetle's right. It's amazing that Matt Bunch doesn't understand this simple concept of ASUC elections.

Another reason Ross lost for Senate was because he didn't try to win. I'm not saying he would have won had he tried, but you sound like you weren't paying all that much attention.

Again, the idea that losers can "steal" votes in ASUC Senate elections is silly.

Trust me. I wouldn't have been supporting Ross in that election. Ross lost Senate because he wasn't a worthy candidate for the campus in general. Chad won because he was a good candidate.

In years past, BCR candidates were able to win with BCR votes because the organization wasn't nearly as factioned and supported a single candidate who was also able to draw some votes from elsewhere.

James Gallagher won because he had BCR, his fraternity. Paul LaFata won with BCR support and popularity gained outside of the club. Mel Jones lost because while she was able to draw BCR votes, she didn't draw sufficient votes from elsewhere and had a lackluster campaign. Victoria won because she had a stellar campaign and drew Greek votes along with BCR. Chad earned his seat similarly with Greek support to supplement BCR (despite another candidate trying to steal his votes).

And seriously, enough with the Log Cabin jokes. Gay jokes are so outdated.
