Immigration Bill open thread
With the immigration bill dying (or maybe just resting?) in Washington right now, it’s time for some thoughts. Is this bill a good thing? Necessary? Too much? Not enough?
My view: as a compromise bill, no one is going to be completely happy. Also, with a leaky boat you patch the leaks first, right? Most of the measures I have heard of so far (and this thing is long, so that’s probably not much) would be great if they were enforced, but I see nothing to motivate a Republican or Democrat administration to actually enforce.
How ’bout you guys? What do you think?
This was a very, very small victory for us. Megan, you are right when you say that this is just “resting.”
Cut the “jobs Americans won’t do” malarkey; make the welfare babes clean the hotels and a pick the fruits instead of giving into the culture of irresponsibility and dependence; protect the right of integrity of a sovereign nation, thus reducing the drugs from cartels of “undocumented workers” who are just “trying to make a better life for themselves,” which is why 1/3 of the federal prisons are filled with illegals.
Drugs, welfare, and national identity: three issues with one policy.
The “Anchor Baby” policy is an abomination to the 14th Amendment (as are affirmative action and hate crimes, but that’s another post). Being born in America does NOT make you an American. Also, being born outside of America does NOT make you NOT an American.
Restrict dual citizenship with only our closest of allies.
There is room here for only 100% Americanism, only for those who are Americans and nothing else. — TR

jeez…give the girl a break. at least she IS blogging. you obviously have nothing better to do over your summer than complain. seriously, get a job, pick up a hobby, anything.
