Berkeley Senior Killed
A Berkeley Senior was killed last night. The victim was Chris Wooton, a Berkeley senior originally from southern California. He was stabbed at a party at his fraternity, Sigma Pi, while trying to break up a fight. The Daily Cal mentions that he might have been in a fight, but close sources told me he was not involved in the fight, but was stabbed when he tried to separate those who were involved. I am also told that the attacker was not a student (updated). He was pronounced dead at the hospital. Chris would have attended UC Berkeley for grad school in the fall.
I post it not because we should follow every grisly detail of each death around campus, but because the area around campus, where we all walk and pass through frequently, isn’t as safe as it should be. Everyone should be prepared to confront a situation like this, with the hopes that more could be prevented. The liberal utopian enclave that Berkeley has tried to form itself into has failed another of it’s own, and its really a shame.
Edited to add more information.

Daily Cal has an article up:

to everyone that is reading.
Chris Wooton was a family member, a son, brother, grandson, cousin, and friend. Everyone should know that this 21 year old student at berkeley was a honest kind hearted man. He should be remembered for much but most importantly remembered for the fact that he was faitaly stabbed for trying to stop violence and hate. Chris Wooton was a generous and happy individual who strived to please others and spread smiles. Please do not think of this as just another killing. We should all stand for what is right and just. Exactly like Chris Wooton did. In loving memory of Chris an outstanding individual. We love and miss you.

Even before reading the Cal Patriot’s blog about this, I knew you would have to say one thing about liberals having something to do with the tragedy. I don’t want to start an argument over this, but ask yourselves: is that really in good taste?

It’s not about liberals. It’s about WHO Chris was. About what a wonderful person he was. Is your comment in really good taste???? I think we know Chris a lot better then a lot of people that will be reading this. Please don’t comment back like that. You don’t know who adam is or who i am. If your a friend of Chris’s then you know what a special person he was and how blessed someone is to of had Chris in their life. He is part of our family, our family is going though enough right now with his lose. So please back off that comment was not about liberals it’s a comment from part of his family saying just a little part of who Chris was. Chris had a lot ahead of him in life. we are a very close and loving family, Chris is someone when your around him your smiling. He had so much love for his family and friends. I can’t even start on how much he was loved. Please everyone this I’m sure was started over something so dumb and now look part of our family is gone. What kind of person would do this? Chris didn’t even do anything but try to stop a fight. Chris is loved and will be forever loved.

Liberals had nothing to do with Chris being stabbed. Very tasteful Cal Patriot.

Sounds like this dude was all about fighting and stomping on some outnumbered fools.

“Well, josh handles this fuckhead and and drops him to the ground via a nice DDT and begins to grind his face into the coarse pavement of the sidewalk while several of are taking turns on his ribs and dome. By now, about 10-12 bro’s are outside and there are only 3 opponents so my bro’s decide to try and break shit up but if you know josh (or myself as I have discovered this weekend), then you know that we get an intense adrenaline rush and calming us down is not very easy. well….. in most cases it isn’t easy but when a pig rolls up with a night-stick and waves it in the air shouting “get the fuck out of here and go home,” then separating shit is quite easy…”

Last I heard, the Republican Party was supposed to be about upholding conservative family values and the dignity of human life. Using a tragedy like this to score political points is a slap in the face to the already suffering families of both young men who were involved and a spitball on the grave of Mr. Wootton. Shame on the Cal Patriot! Shame!

Anyone can post on here, blaming the Cal Patriot for everything is an unjustifiably broad accusation…

For all of you who are complaining about Megan’s dig at Berkeley Liberals: shame on you! Even though it’s unclear as to if better policies in Berkeley could have prevented this tragedy, Megan’s point remains valid and should be one to consider.
She wasn’t using a tragedy to score political points, she showing how a tragedy might be the result of not heeding a point she’s made before (see some of her other posts about Berkeley safety).

Megan, you fail to understand what bottom up phenomena is about — it is about militancy, the hysterical the fear. It helps to have this as the anti- US curriculum is being force-fed down USB student’s throats. They champion violence as Mao Littledong was so appreciated of.

“They champion violence as Mao Littledong was so appreciated of.”
Did you really just compare Berkeley to the PRC on a post focusing on a tragic death?
Yes, yes, you did. GTFover yourself.
