“Why We Want To Kill You”
2 Ex-Terrorists Speaking Out at Berkeley
Wednesday, October 29, 2008
7:15 pm in Wheeler Auditorium
Learn the real reasons for terror and learn the only way to defeat it from the people who were once terrorists. Walid Shoebat and Kamal Saleem were PLO terrorists and are coming to UC Berkeley to talk about their experiences as terrorists, and their subsequent conversion which enabled them to see the error of their ways. There will be an extensive Q and A period at the end of the presentation for anyone who would like to ask them questions. Bags, signs, posters, banners, or any other form of signage will not be permitted at the event.
If you would like to receive free advanced reserved seating, contact info@berkeleygop.com
A full house is expected so attendees who want tickets at the door without advance reservations should come early. Doors open at 6:45 pm.
For more information on Walid Shoebat, feel free to check out his website at http://www.shoebat.com/

Do you really think that the CIA, the FBI, the Department of Defense, and the United States Air Force Academy would not do their homework before they asked Walid Shoebat to speak to them and give them insider information on the mindset of a terrorist? If they have done research on Walid Shoebat’s background to verify his claims, as I am sure that they have, then if they had discovered that he falsely misrepresented himself, surely they would not have brought him on board to help them better understand the threat of radical Islamic extremism. If the most powerful and wide-reaching intelligence agencies of the world–which have far more information at their disposal than the average American or the average journalist–research Walid Shoebat’s background and verify it to be true, then I would say that that is quite strong evidence for the veracity of Mr. Shoebat’s claims.

So I take it from the Facebook comment that “Truth Bringer” is actually Josh Curtis, who claimed on the Clog that he usually doesn’t comment on blogs, and used a pseudonym leaving a comment on his own post. That’s weird.

I’ve confirmed that Josh Curtis is, in fact, Truth Bringer, though he claims he wasn’t trying to hide his identity. I’ve asked him to use a recognizable identifier when commenting from now on.

The guy doesn’t appear on any FBI list of terrorists. There is no independent proof that he actually did anything of what he claims, as opposed to just trying to make money from going on these rounds.
This NY Times report mentions ” Mr. Saleem’s account of how, as a child, he infiltrated Israel to plant bombs via a network of tunnels underneath the Golan Heights. No such incidents have been reported, the academic experts said. They also question how three middle-aged men who claim they were recruited as teenagers or younger could have been steeped in the violent religious ideology that only became prevalent in the late 1980s.
Prof. Douglas Howard, who teaches the history of the modern Middle East at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich., heard Mr. Saleem speak last November at the college and said he thought the three were connected to several major Christian evangelical organizations.
“It was just an old time gospel hour ‘Jesus can change your life, he changed mine,’” Mr. Howard said. “That is mixed in with ‘Watch out America, wake up America, the danger of Islam is here.’”
Mr. Howard said his doubts about their authenticity grew after stories like the Golan Heights saga as well as something on Mr. Saleem’s web site along the lines that he was descended from the grand wazir of Islam. “The grand wazir of Islam is a nonsensical term,” Mr. Howard said.

you would think that in his own website, under the title
“evidence of my credentials”, Shoebat could present one single piece of evidence to support his claims. There are plenty of smears against his critics, like the New York Times, and some references to terrorist attacks that took place in the 90s (twenty years after he left Palestine) but not one single shred of evidence.
He says “For additional evidence on documents that proves most aspects to my claims you can go to Daniel Pipes’s Middle East Forum”, but in fact Pipes says “He uses the term “terrorist” somewhat metaphorically”

This is a total hoax.

To me, my name and “Truth Bringer” are synonymous and interchangeable (disclaimer: that’s a half-joke, since sarcasm is hard to perceive over the internet).
I freely admitted that I was Truth Bringer and offered up the fact right away. I am not afraid of my identity and I am not afraid of true statements that I make being attributed to me.

Seriously… the air force spent $13,000 tax dollars to have these people speak when they have no academic training whatsoever and nobody can even verify their claims? What a scam.

In response to truth bringer, I would have thought those departments would have done their homework when it came to the Iraq war but reality proved otherwise
